Great little tool. Only minor gripe is it's hard to see the laser dot on a very sunny day in the garden, but for indoor renovation, it's perfect and very precise.
Compared this to a Leica Disto D2 I borrowed from a friend. For measuring rooms and furniture, the HOTO is just as accurate but way more stylish and easier to use.
Very impressed with the build quality. It feels premium, not like a cheap plastic toy. It struggled a bit with a dark navy feature wall, but worked fine once I put a post-it note on the spot.
